Unveiling of the new €10 banknote from series EUROPA

At 11.00 a.m. Yves Mersch, Member of the Executive Board of the ECB, unveiled the new €10 banknote at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt. The new €10 will start circulating on 23 September 2014.

yes it is such a stupid idea - with this rate it would take 7 years to lunch the whole series

I hope that for the rarely used, higher denominations it will be quicker

also the EC had promised special security features on the high denominations

And why do we have to wait until September for the note to enter circulation? By this rate, it'll be time to restart issuing updated designs of notes just as soon as the Europa issue is completed!
