Slovenia also announced that next year's collectors coins will be dedicated to "200th anniversary of birth of photographer John Puhar". The central bank is also asking people to submit themes proposals for the years 2015 and 2016.

btw, to be pedantic, 2000 years of Emona (Roman city on the site of what is now Ljubljana) is a bit made up. It's probably older. A plaque was found that says the emperor donated something to the city in 14/15 AD. Some historians decided that 'something' was the city wall, but there's no basis for that. And also the city wall has nothing to do with founding of the colony. Article in Slovene (p.28):

Very good? You can say it, but most of Slovenians would completly disagree. Why? Because these proposals  weren't accepted by normal procedure. Our government is falling and quickly putting people who support it on important positions in politics and making decisions like this. Government, that is supported by only 10-15% of people.

In conclusion, there were more important anniversaries to commemorate. Not like other years, when there are also some other anniversaries which would be good to commemorate, but REALLY more important, like 2000 years of founding of our capital city.

But 10 years of EU membership is not worth commemorating eather, if you ask me. We have a long history with many important events and births etc. We all still remember that we're part of EU.

There will be no second 2€ CC.
