Portugal today issued the 2 euro commemorative coin 10 years of euro cash. The mintage of this coin is only 520,000 coins but only 500,000 were out in rolls the rest (20,000) are in folders. As one could expect the demand for these rolls was enormous. The above image is showing people queuing outside the central bank to buy the rolls. The bank was allowing each person to buy a maximum of 2 rolls and each person had to wait at least 3 hours in the queuing line in order to enter the bank.
All but Malta and Italy had issued the common €2 commemorative coin 2012. Malta announced that will issue this coin in March. Still no news about Italy
In the first video you can see the people queuing outside the bank to buy the rolls, whereas, in the second video you can see a dealer buying rolls en mass directly from people.
