Replica Coin from the Roman Period
The Central Bank of Malta towards the end of June, beginning of July will issue the annual BU set with the Maltese standard coins dated 2012. The set will also contain the second €2 commemorative coin from the series the constitutional history. This coin commemorates a milestone in the Maltese history when the Maltese had a majority representation in the local assembly. This coin will also be unique in the sense that it will have the Dutch mint mark on it whereas those that will be issued in rolls later on this year will not have this mint mark, thus 2 versions of this coin were made. The set will also contain a coin from the Roman Period. The bank will issue 50,000 sets

I have noticed that the 2 euro commemorative coin in the BU set has a proof like quality - I did not see much different between the proof coin and the BU set coin - but there are quality difference from the 2 euro in the rolls. Anyone else noticed this?

Comment by Ctirad on September 3, 2012 at 7:49 Hello all,
I want to ask you, I ordered on February (this BU set) and I haven't any info about it. Do you have the same problem or you have confirmation form for BU set. For roll TYE Malta I have confirmation - no problem and now I don't know if I should write to central bank or not. Thanks
