Today, France issued its second 2 euro commemorative coin for this year. The coin is dedicated to the 100th anniversary since the birth of Abbe Pierre. One million coins were minted, this might sounds a lot but usually France mints more than 10 times this volume. As a result, few of these coins only will be reserved for collectors with most of them going into circulation - this is pushing up the market price for this coin.
This coin is also available in a folder and in proof (packed in a capsule and box) - 10,000 of each were produced. The former is selling for €10 whereas the latter for €20
