Andorra Euro Coins Postponed Until 2014

The news website Diari d’Andorra is reporting that the Andorran euro coins which were supposed to be out on 1st July, 2013 will be delayed until January 2014. The reason seems to be that Andorra is being late in adopting the rules requested by the European Union e.g. regulations that fight against money fraud and counterfeiting. According to a spoke-person, Andorra has still lot of preparation to do as most of the rules are totally new for Andorra so the challenges are even bigger. Andorra is planning to mint 3 million coins with its national design which has not yet been revealed.

I was feeling something like that would happen as the time was running out and the designs had not yet been revealed. Hopefully, Andorran coins will be out together with Latvian ones by January 1, 2014.

This is the original text: "El euro andorrano tendrá que esperar más de lo previsto inicialmente. Al menos hasta enero del 2014" = Andorran Euro will have to wait more than expected, at least 'till January 2014.

from the translation i didn't quite understand if it is definitive that Andorra now moved the date to 2014 or that new date would only be applied if they do not manage to adopt the rules in time.
