Andorra has just revealed its euro coins designs that shall start to circulate from January 2014. Designers were invited to design the €1, a common design for 50c, 20c and 10c and another one for 5c, 2c and 1c. Designers were asked not to submit designs for the €2 as the design for that was already chosen. The €2 features the coat of arms of Andorra. The theme for the 1 euro features Casa del la Vall - for 50c, 20c and 10c Romanesque art whereas for 5c, 2c and 1c the theme features landscapes, nature, wildlife and flora.
The coins will be minted by Spain and France. In total 6,480,000 coins will be minted:
400,000 €2,
580,000 €1
500,000 of 50 cents,
1 million of 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1c

Ilioplius is right.... Particularly on the 2€, it's awful that the name of the country covers the national emblem.
Well... :D I expected better designs. To be honest, I am shocked they covered part of their national coat of arms by the inscription "Andorra". That is very cheap and clumsy — or even awkward — manner of depicting country's name. The same in the case of yellow cents: the inscription takes 1/4 of the coin's area and covers part of the face.
Yes, good coins.
Very nice coins!!! Especially the 1 and 2 euro coins....
they 1-5c look a bit like the cypriot :D
I'm happy they chose different designs! I was afraid to have 8 times the national emblem. In this way the set it's much more interesting.
seems that Andorra still doesnt know that the common side design was updated :D (they are still showing the old map)
wow! these designs are really cool!
