Slovenia just released the designs of the 3 collectors coins that will be issued next year. All the three coins have a common design and commemorate the 100 Years since the first Slovenian obtained won the first Olympic medal. The €3 coin will be a bi-metallic, the €30 coin will be minted in silver, whereas the €100 in gold.
In April 2011 the Bank of Slovenia held a public competition to design collector coins to be issued in 2012, with anonymous entries. By the competition closing date of 21 May 2011, it had received eleven designs for collector coins commemorating 100th anniversary of the first Slovene winner of the Olympic medal.
Based on the recommendations of the Commemorative Coins Commission appointed by the Bank of Slovenia and the Ministry of Finance, the Slovenian government decided to award:
First Place to Milan Drobnak
Second Place to Gorazd Učakar
Third Place to Blaž Češka
