Belgium Euro Coins 2012 "Ten Years Euro Cash" €2 Commemorative Coin

This is the first image of the Belgian €2 commemorative coin - 10 years of euro banknotes and coins. Belgium, since it has more than 1 official language and since the space where to put the country name is limited, they decided to put the abbreviation BE (for Belgium) instead of the country name in the 3 official languages. Belgium will mint 5,013,000 coins;

5,000,000 UNC coins

6,000 Proof

7,000 in BU Folders

The office in Bruxelles was open as well.

My roll contains much more edge B than A...

The coin was issued to general public today.

The trains are on strike but the national bank is working.

I collected my roll in Antwerp today

Today the entire Belgium is blocked for a general strike. I don't think the coins are available today.

I've just read your comments about the "BE".  And just one additional comment : "België Belgique Belgien" has 23 characters.  "Bundesrepublik Deutschland" has 26 characters.  What German mint can, Belgian Mint can too but... don't ask too much to the Belgian Mint ;-)

So it is nothing to prevent that get to the Belgium coin to collectors.

Will it be released on January 1,2012?

I think it is because of Flemish which is more a German language than a latin one.

Official language of Belgium are  French (latin), German & Flemish
