Commemorative coins are special €2 coins that have the same specifications as the standard €2, however, they commemorate a special event or a historic personality. Each member state is allowed to issue one of these coin a year. Two issues are allowed when a common issue is released by all the states. These coins can be used for normal buying anywhere in the Eurozone.
